Noe Gillerot

Noé Gillerot is a young Belgian composer and conductor born in 2000. After studying piano, singing, saxophone, organ, chamber music, and composition at the Tournai Conservatory and the Saint-Grégoire Academy, Noé studied composition at Arts2-MONS in Claude Ledoux's class. He completed master's degrees in composition and music education, both of which he obtained with high distinction in June 2023. From 2022, Noé studied conducting with Nicolas Kruger at the same school and, at the same time, with Yves Segers at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. He obtained his master's degree in conducting in 2025.

As a composer, his music is frequently performed in Belgium and France. He has already composed for numerous ensembles and musicians such as Ensemble 21, Nicolas Dupont and Olga Kirpicheva, the Bonporti Quartet, the Upsilon duo, the Tournai musical chapel, the Améthyste orchestra, the Arts2 choirs, and others. In 2021, he won the Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen composition competition, which will enable him to write for the prestigious symphony orchestra of Antwerp that performed his work on tour beyond the national borders. In 2026, he is selected for the composition and conducting workshop at the Grafenegg Festival in Austria, “Ink Still Wet,” initiated by Brad Lubman and Olga Neuwirth.

In addition to “classical” concert music, the young composer collaborates with other artists such as rapper Diego, for whom he has orchestrated and conducted certain compositions, and playwright François Gillerot, his brother, whose texts he sets to music. “Oratorio da Requiem” is the first result of their joint work: a 50-minute piece for choir, orchestra, and solo tenor, premiered in December 2022 at Arsonic. Noé Gillerot is a winner of the “Prélude” and “Louis Cattiaux” competitions, which enabled him to be recorded on CD. He is also the winner of the 2023 Sabam Composition Prize. Since February 2024, he has been a member of the Forum de la Création Musicale.

In addition to joining the LAPS Ensemble in 2025, Noé is assistant to the Philharmonie de la Renaissance and the Pôle Hainuyer choir. He is also the artistic director of the young ensemble “Maelström” and was the founding musical director of the ensemble “Satirique.”
